There will be two exhibition stands at the ECSS conference, one from Selex-SI Gematronik, and one from Skywarn Germany / Storm Chasers Europe.
SELEX-Gematronik occupies a leading position in the design, manufacture, sales and service of state-of-the-art weather radar systems, sensors and system solutions for meteorology, hydrology and aviation. The focus is on providing customised system and turnkey solutions that reflect a deep concern for the individual customer. Almost 50 years of experience, reliability and a professional approach to challenges have contributed to the company’s reputation among experts in the meteorological field.
Skywarn Germany is a non-profit incorporated association that maintains a pool of voluntary weather spotters. Some of them have been certified after having proved their skills in judging weather hazards. The certified spotters provide the ESWD (European Severe Weather Database), several weather and emergency services as well as any interested person or organisation with real time reports of severe weather events. A further mission is to investigate and analyze historic severe weather incidents to support ESSL and ESWD. All services of Skywarn are on a voluntary basis. Many spotters are storm chasers as well who organised themself in the community Storm Chasers Europe (SCE). SCE provides chasers with an internet based communication platform, chasing relevant informations and coordinates chasings if needed. Cooperations beyond national borders are explicitly desired.
