Czech Hydrometeorological Institute, Radar Department - Czech republic
For versatile displaying of meteorological data in the Internet/Intranet environment, JSMeteoView has been developed. JSMeteoView uses HTML and JavaScript on client side and PHP on the server side. At present it is under testing inside the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute.
The last version of JSMeteoView is designed to display and combine the following data sources:
• Radar: Czech weather radar network (CZRAD) composite of Maximum reflectivity
• Satellite: Meteosat (PDUS) IR-channel
• Lightning: Central European Lightning Detection Network (CELDN)
• NWP model outputs: LAM (ALADIN)
• Geographical navigation (terrain, borders, rivers, cities, etc.)
The philosophy of JSMeteoView and its implementation in Czech Hydrometeorological Institute is described. Examples of JSMeteoView outputs in the case of severe convective weather are given.
