Wind Science and Engineering Program at Texas Tech University

You can call us "The Wind Busters" because we try to offer engineering solutions to wind-related problems. Do you find it hard to believe that the breeze that ruffles your hair would concern engineers? Perhaps a look at wind damage figures will convince you. It is estimated that extreme-wind events such as hurricanes, tornadoes and microbursts are the cause of more than 80% of the total property damage due to all natural hazards in the United States.
